He didn't play adequate defense. He constantly has problems with alcohol and Marijuana. There is one thing he does do. That is Play with Energy and a force. By the way, I saw that "powers of ten" video when I was a wee small lad at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago in a permanent exhibit installation. I had the pleasure of reliving it when I showed it to my son when he was younger. Anyway, thanks again for a great tribute to Shawn.

Lovely Ambitious routine Shawn - some really great moves and well done on the award. And it is a fantastic song to set a routine to. We have a magician here in the UK called Russ Stevens who has been doing a manipulation routine to that song for about 15 years. It really is a work of art and very moving to watch. The first time I saw it live I was blown away. If you get a chance, look on You Tube for Russ and his version (think it's called Card Routine 1993). Truly magical.

Shawn, what can i say? i have seen this video 20 times, and i love it. You create an asmosfear of magic with your cards that reminds me to David Copperfield with his ilusions. Beautiful, amazing, fantastic. The music synchronized with your moves, the "camara zooms"...you create emotions with this routine. I bow to you. I'm pretty sure the audience doesn't even care about a double or a quad ... for the most part the audience is caught up in the experience and feeling of the routine. I'll be honest, my technique is much better than this footage from May of 2000 but even then the audience gave me a standing ovation nightly.

Get you back is arguably on of Lane's tamer songs from a technique standpoint. Plus, how can you prove you point using that analogy?? Lane is the originator of the piece, Govan is the imitator. That's like saying "You should hear Come Together by Aerosmith." A) Their version is crap compared to the Beatles. B) It was the Beatles song to begin with. Govan is better than 99.8% guitarist alive....but Shawn Lane is not one of them.
