You can't be serious. Blake should have left not Melinda.Lets not be dense here. What reason would there be for her to be sho shocked? She had been getting paid to be a backup singer on a major tour...clearly she knew she could sing. The judges throwing her some props would not have left her near speechless. She acted like she was some lady who never sings anywhere but in the shower. While many feel she was such a genuine person. I always felt she was very fake and calculating in how she portrayed herself. From her first audition she had "people" picking her wardrobe, etc.

I never bought her not really thinking she was that good. She was use to singing background...and even touring some as background from what I recall. While she may not have thought of herself as someone out in front...there is no way she was really so shocked to hear she could sing. I think most of it was an act :P

A few years back, I heard a really haunting song called "Come away Melinda". It was sung by a girl called Barry St. John and it just scraped into the top 50 (in Britain) at the end of 1965. She had a really beautiful, plaintive voice and I seem to remember there being a chorus in it sung by children. It didn't sound anything like Uriah Heep's - as good as their version is - I presume it was the same song. Perhaps someone could track it down to compare and contrast!

I will not claim the show is fixed, but there is no question in my mind that Melinda should have won. She was by far the best vocalist on the show that season, and quite possibly the best of any AI season. She is amazing, and I would gladly pay to see her in concert anytime. The fact that she didn't win is a travesty.

it doesnt really matter if anyone wins or loses AI because the prize is only a recording contract...but it is still shameful to see melinda eliminated. the only reason why jordin won is because she appeals to the teenagers, in which the majority of the votes are teenagers. seems to me that the popular vote only seems to judge the face, personality, and how hip they are instead of what matters most, TALENT. melinda shouldve won. shes the most experienced and mature than the rest.

and i didnt say anything about other athletes because this is a video of marion jones mercilessly cheating her way to a gold medal. i have similar opinions of most other athletes in similar scenarios. youre the one who hasnt done research. read "game of shadows" or even watch the 20/20 interview with victor conte. the amount of drugs she took is fucking astounding and she will look you in the eye and lie about it. ya, youre right, real cool person.
