i love these they are among my influences on the bass. and they may be technical bass players in all, but their stuff is very listenable, has a nice groove, and they can still do nice solos without destroying the groove. theyre well dsiciplined musicians. and journey is not bad either, steve perry is a amazing vocalist, and the rest of the band are very creative, so dont hate on them too. technicality isnt all that makes music great ya know. ;)

the most amazing thing about this is that they are disciplined enough to give each other "room" and play accompanying parts, rather then just all going crazy and making noise. And they each get their time to solo and lead the jam.

Not at all , im very far from a Christian, just read that a Skull was analysed by HP and many others. I didn't say That I totaly believed in this, you don't have to be mean. There are many old constructions that can't be explained so even if these skulls can't be reproduced so what... About the title, don't trust it - the video looks like it was filmed during a European tour (it's from German TV)and the producers of these socalled "jazz" shows where notoriously ignorant of what was being performed. Same thing in Denmark - they mislabeled 3 out of 7 tunes of a Zawinul Syndicate broadcast! There's a funny example of this title-confusion here: search for "Hellborg fretless" to see and hear him play his fretted bass. Still, people insist it's fretless because the title says so!

"My Greatest Hits" on " I Wanna Play For You" is a completely different tune, to make things confusing. Clarke often plays medleys of hits and calls them "My Greatest Hits", however, this is simply a jam over Silly Putty, and there is nothing of Lopsy Lu in this. I don't see a live video of Lopsy Lu on here, but the album version comes up first in a search. I mentioned it so you could verify for yourself what tune this is, in case you didn't have the album.

I know it is Silly Putty but name of the song is called "My Greatest Hits"... it says so in the video, and title, and the song "My Greatest Hits" is on the album "I wanna PLay For You." Obviously Silly Putty would be in there because it's his greatest hits. And yeah Silly putty and Lopsy Lu are similar but I kinda feel like Silly Putty is just kind of an extension of Lopsy Lu which came out in 74, and they are really similar. No, they start with a slow Silly Putty, jam from there and come back to it at the end again. Lopsy Lu IS similar but has a pronounced 12/8 feel and a different melody. Both tunes open with the same F#-G# hammer-on, though. You can check out Lopsy Lu here on youtube.

He did not invent the horn. He had a dream that he was playing three horns at one time and he went to a local music store and blew them all but none combined to create the dream sound. Owner told him to come back later and took him downstairs where he had "scraps". There young Roland found the two horns he was listening for.
