This is the only solution that I see. Retailers will continue with their hyped-up sales, but if people decide that they won't stand in these crazy lines, then maybe retailers will re-think their strategies. I too stayed home the entire day to avoid this nonsense.

So, if everyone followed your advice, there would be no mobs to stand in front of. Okay, I like that. I'm not fond of crowds myself. Sometimes there really is no choice but to be in one. Black Friday, however, is a time when I can make that choice and so I don't leave the house that day, except for going to work of course. (Thankfully NOT at Wal*Mart or anywhere else where mobs gather that day).

Simple solution, don't ever stand in a mob of people, waiting for doors to open. Too bad that this wal-mart worker had to be there, just trying to make a living. I did this once on Black Friday years ago and found the whole thing so repulsive that I have not, and will NEVER again do it. BTW, I was only in a line of about 20 people, but it was bad enough. I actually told a few unruly people to have a little dignity, not that it did any good. Yeah, people disgust me.

nope, he never got touched. but since i knew it from when i was a child i figured it didn't know/like him or something. i tried talking/screaming for help but never could. as soon as the sensation of someone holding my arms down went away i was able to move/talk/etc. very strange. maybe it WAS (IS?) something trying to control me but they aren't doing a very good job. ;-)

exactly. and as an adult i've tempted fate a time or two and slept with my arms outside of the covers just to see. NOT GOOD. it happens almost every time i do it. the last time i tried was about 15 years ago and when i told my husband he just said, "Oh, was that last night? because i saw a person standing at the foot of our bed but figured i was asleep at the time." GREAT! a ghost is following me! i've not done it again and don't plan to.

it never made any sounds or smells. i only knew it was there because i would suddenly 'sense' it nearby. only after i had opened my eyes would i get the sensation of someone holding me down by pressing on my upper arms (both at the same time) and it felt no different from an actual person doing it. (though no one did that to me routinely!) i also had the sensation of not being able to scream or yell out even though i tried. that's the part that freaked me out...the paralyzing feeling.

When we lived in a certain place (i was there from ages 5-10) i'd have episodes at night where i was convinced an invisible entity was coming to my bed and holding me down by my upper arms. i didn't feel threatened just weirded out, if that makes sense. i only told my grandma (who i was extremely close to) and she said to put my arms under the covers when i went to sleep so the ghost couldn't get my arms. it worked. and i still do it to this day. Grandma's rule.

Iron Man brings out the geek in me

Yep. The line-up of the New Avengers is: Dr. Strange, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Echo, Ronan (Hawkeye in disguise), Luke Cage, Iron Fist... the line up changes here and there and I'm probably missing someone, but that's more or less it. Wolverine dominated the three xmen movies, and he`s got his own movie coming out next summer, so it`s definitely time for other Marvel characters to take the spotlight. Spiderman? Ditto. You will be pleased to hear that there`s going to be a Thor movie, directed by kenneth Branagh, and released before the Avengers film. Thor is scheduled for 2010 and he will be in the Avengers movie in 2011. Wolverine`s in the Avengers now? Man, I really am out of the loop.

You know what else is driving me nuts? Of course you don't, so I'll tell you. It's the dorks that are saying Spider-Man and Wolverine should be in the Avengers movie because they're Avengers now and they're more popular than the Wasp or Thor. Haven't there been enough movies with Spider-Man and Wolverine? Isn't it time to let some other Marvel heroes hit the big screen? I love Captain America and think he`s integral to an Avengers movie; but there are some comic book characters, no matter how cool, who have trouble being adapted for the big screen. You want to know what's weird about that? I hadn't ever given it any real thought until today. You saying Stan (the Man) wants Will Smith made me go, "who would I choose, if I could?" Interesting. I was just on the IMDB last night and some joker was raising cane about Nick Fury being black in the movies. Personally I don't much care, as long as the actor is good and can fill the role. I think Sam Jackson will make a fantastic Nick Fury. I don't see Will Smith as Cap, though. Not because he's black... he is a good actor, just not very Cap-like. Maybe it's because of Hancock. I should probably see Ali. That might change my mind.

Yep. That's when Jim Lee and Rob Leifield were Marvel's little darlings and they let them take over the core titles for a year. It had its moments, but wasn't that impressive. That's one of the things I dislike about comic books today. They love to take the latest hottest creator and give them some book and say, "here, restructure it into what you like." Bleh. honestly crystal skull is my second favorite and the only complaint i have about this movie was the misuse of CG. the ants crawling into the guys mouth and the nuclear mushroom cloud were the only two things i liked but the rest wasnt needed like the gophers and boxes. are real boxes and crates that hard to get? they got 9000 snakes for raiders. the only cg that bothered me at all was the cg in the chase scene with the monkies that totally took me out of the movie. it looked like space jam

Every time I have said that in the past to a fan of the series, I am told that it's the weakest of the three, that it's stupid, that it's too over the top, that it doesn't deserve to be part of the series. Pretty much the same things people are now saying about "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".

Yes, you're right about people griping about the violence and dark nature of Temple of Doom. And I do remember it being the sole reason PG13 was created. I'm talking more of the fans of "Raiders" who said it was a pathetic sequel. They were upset about over-the-top stuff like the mine cart chase that goes on and on, they hated Short Round and Willy, they were mad that there were no Nazis and felt that taking on followers of Kali was stupid. "Temple of Doom" is my personal favorite...

People ranted on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom because of its dark nature. It came out around the time of E.T. (1982) and sngle handidly caused the pg-13 rating. People call it a classic now because once you get passed the dark themes, theres a lot of quality in there and memorable scenes. It still retains the magic of the other 2 in the trilogy unlike this film which totally was filled CGI especially at the end.I mean 20 years of rewrites and this is what they come up with?

Movie was terrible I almost left the theatre. Just watching this made me so mad. Horrible doesnt even come close to the first 3 classics.
