Brunswick "A" Pinsetter Posted by: Sharkie626
Video duration: 567 seconds The Brunswick Pinsetters at the Bowl Arena in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania. I apologize if the quality isn't the best. NOTE: I do not work at this center. I was given permission by the owner to record the machines. Related: arena, bowl, bowling, brunswick, machine, pinsetter, pinsetters Display Video Comments | Hide Video Comments | Add Comment |

There is access between each pair. Like 15 and 16 would have a step up between them and a catwalk running betwwen them which would be over the booster or accelerator. You also have work platforms on the top of each machine and designated standing locations on top as well. The hardest part for new people being trained on them is to feel confident moving around on them. But it is good to be cautious around them because a stupid move could mean your hand, or even life. But rare.

There is no denying that :) But they are built to last and can take a lot of hits! At this center, I have seen rakes get hit several times, and still work.

I'm not sure man, I have seen people try to work on them from the front before, that might be one way.

Interesting behind-the-scenes view. Thanks for posting. There doesn't seem to be a lot of room between the machines. How do you gain access to repair the units that aren't on the ends?

By: Sharkie626. on 25 Sep 08, 00:24:56
Well I have never bowled with a GSX but I did bowl with GS-98s. I wasn't too pleased with them, they did not work very well and they seem to follow AMFs design a bit much. I hope this doesn't offend you.... but I give it a 4.

By: Sharkie626. on 04 Aug 08, 02:24:23
well, these run slow because they are As, not A-2s ;)
By: budharvesting. on 04 Aug 08, 01:23:15
Man ol man. I never seen A-2s move this slow before. Maybe its just the video. Got to get those pit carpets flattened out. Seen one of them waiting on pins. I like all that room in front of the masking unit but it looks tight behind the machines, war zone with a turn pan jam. I wouldnt like that.

what are jetbacks? aren't they just a mod on A pinsetters? Because the main bowling alley that I go to doesn't have them installed and they look really sturdy and the bowling alley that I went to on vacation had jetbacks and the sweep looked very wobbly and fragile.

I,ve seen many out of ranges on these"A"machines,as well as the"Jet Backs".My favorite is the vintage"A"pin sweepers.Very slow!!!!!!

oh most defently... ive had on where the pin stopped at the bottom of the ramp from the ball excelorator and ended up having about 8 or 9 14 or 15lbs balls behind it... not alot of fun

By: SAMMYJS99. on 02 May 08, 07:48:58
that as well - yes.
By: Sharkie626. on 01 May 08, 22:38:15
it could also be the condition of the pins themselves.
By: minitucker87. on 01 May 08, 16:02:02
ohh yea i clean those pin decks every monday and tuesday nights myself, with a mix of bleach, and water, the out of ranges are mild, maybe from other pins bumping them knocking them out of distance, and i work on A-2 converted.
By: SAMMYJS99. on 01 May 08, 05:05:38
alot of out of ranges?? some1 is not cleaning/spraying the decks when running the oil machine.
